The first two images for Wonder Woman 2 have been unleashed onto the internet, and they raise some intriguing possibilities for the DC Entertainment sequel. Be warned, though: you could deem one of the images a bit spoiler-y, so only read this article if you’re happy knowing a few things about the film.

Patty Jenkins – who writes and directs, after directing Wonder Woman to much acclaim – shared this image of Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor in the film’s eighties setting. Given that Steve sacrificed his life by flying an exploding plane in the previous film, his presence here raises no shortage of questions…

So, what gives? Did Steve somehow manage to make it out of the plane, like Batman at the end of The Dark Knight Rises? Or has someone brought him back using time travel, magic or some other comic book science? Or is Diana simply dreaming/hallucinating?
Only time will tell, of course. But we’ll keep you posted with all the latest Wonder Woman 84 news as and when we hear it. The film has a release date of November 1st, 2019.
