High Fidelity TV series gets UK streaming home post-cancellation

Hulu recently cancelled the Nick Hornby adaptation after just one season…

It’s been confirmed that the first and only season of High Fidelity will be coming to UK shores next month. The news arrives just weeks after it was cancelled over in the U.S.

The series is based on Nick Hornby’s bestselling novel of the same name, which was previously adapted in 2000 as a feature film starring John Cusack in the lead role. This Hulu series attempted to gender-flip the central role of Rob Gordon as ‘Robyn Brooks’ for a new generation of music obsessives, but still focused on the character re-litigating their romantic past to get over a breakup.

Starring our new Catwoman Zoë Kravitz, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, David H. Holmes, Jake Lacy, and Kingsley Ben-Adir, the series survived on Hulu for only a short time, and this led to its star shooting a very sarcastic remark at the streamer after its cancellation.

“It’s cool. At least Hulu has a ton of other shows starring women of colour we can watch. Oh wait,” Kravitz wrote on Instagram.

Here’s a trailer for the short-lived series:

High Fidelity will be streaming on STARZPLAY from Thursday September 10th.
