Apple has announced the Hijack Season 2 date — we have the details
Hijack season 2 will come to Apple TV+ on January 14, 2026. Beyond the simple date announcement video, we have little detail. When the (supposedly limited series) second season was announced, we had little detail beyond Idris Elba’s return. All we learn from the current video is the drama is centred on a train journey. We also learn it might be safer to not travel with his character!
What else do we know?
There’s also a press release, telling us the eight-episode second season will premiere globally on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, with the first two episodes, followed by one episode weekly until February 25, 2026. We also have:
In the thrilling second season of Hijack, a Berlin underground train and its commuters are taken hostage, while authorities scramble to save hundreds of lives. Sam Nelson (Elba) is at the heart of the crisis on board, where one wrong decision could spell disaster
Who else returns for Hijack season 2?

Season two reunites its ensemble cast of stars including Elba, who was honoured with an Emmy Award nomination for his season one performance, Christine Adams, Max Beesley and Archie Panjabi, and welcomes Christian Näthe (Ballon, Soloalbum, Schule), Clare-Hope Ashitey (Seven Seconds, Top Boy, Doctor Foster), Lisa Vicari (Django, Dark”), Toby Jones (Mr Bates vs The Post Office, Detectorists, Empire of Light), Karima McAdams (Dune: Prophecy, Deep State, Soulmates) and Christiane Paul (Counterpart, FBI: International, Parlement).
