Netflix has released a first look video showing Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia — The Witcher
Season 4 of The Witcher has entered production in the UK and will be shot back-to-back with season 5. After that, no more Witcher, at least in this story line. As has been well-reported, Henry Cavill has left the role and audiences can currently enjoy Freya Allan (Ciri) in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Liam Hemsworth has taken over the lead for the final two seasons, and fans can now judge the success of the recasting for themselves.

Without further ado, judge for yourself:
After a few watches, we can spot differences before the reveal if we look for them, but seeing Hemsworth as Geralt was by no means jarring. Do share your thoughts in the comments.
What else do we know about the final two seasons?
Netflix has produced a handy update piece, which starts with the video, then moves into some details. The fourth and fifth seasons will cover Andrzej Sapkowski’s three remaining books: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake. As far as actual plot details, all we have is our heroes are separated and must quest to be reunited. Ciri’s journey from the end of season 3 interests us most — she’s walked away from her past to find a new identity as Falka, joining up with a gang of misfits in a far-off land.
Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) must rebuild what’s left of the mages after their betrayal, and Geralt was badly injured and is alone as he recovers and seeks answers.
As to when we can find out for ourselves, we’re hoping season 4 will air in the first half of 2025. As to a date for season 5, it shouldn’t be any later than 2026, but as ever we’ll keep you posted.
