Filming is now underway on series 6…
Arguably the UK’s most loved police drama, Line Of Duty has now begun production on series 6, and we’ve already had official confirmation of the corrupt copper that AC-12’s officers will be investigating when it returns to our screens – Trainspotting star Kelly Macdonald!
Some more casting news has arrived this week, with Shalom Brune-Franklin (Our Girl, Cursed), Perry Fitzpatrick (This Is England, I Am Nicola), Andi Osho (Kiri, Curfew) and Prasanna Puwanarajah (Doctor Foster, Patrick Melrose) joining the ranks in undisclosed roles.
In series 6, Macdonald will feature as Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson, “who draws the attention of anti-corruption unit AC-12 for her unconventional conduct during the investigation of an unsolved murder”.
Martin Compston, Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar will of course be back as the ever-reliable AC-12 unit in the Jed Mercurio crime series, and Mercurio says that Macdonald’s character will prove to be “the most enigmatic adversary AC-12 have ever faced.”
