After a frustrating wait of several years, UK Netflix viewers will be able to watch Manifest season 3 later this month
Four years ago, we reported on how Netflix rescued Manifest after it was cancelled at the end of season 3. While that was good news, less good was the absence of seasons 1-3. While we had the same situation when Lucifer was saved, in that case we were provided a comprehensive introduction to the show. No such luck here.
It’s all about rights and territories. Over the past few years we’ve had season 1 and then season 2. Sky had the licence and these things take time to expire. The good news is, as of June 24 we can finally watch season 3 here on Netflix in the UK.
What is Manifest season 3 about?
Here’s the overall idea for the show (courtesy Wikipedia):
While traveling from Jamaica to New York City, Montego Air Flight 828 experiences a brief period of severe turbulence. When they land at Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, New York, the plane’s 191 passengers and crew learn from NSA director Robert Vance that over five and a half years have passed while they were in the air, during which time they were presumed dead. As they rejoin society, the passengers begin to face the fact that their lives — and loved ones — are not the same as they were, while they also begin to experience guiding voices and visions representing events yet to occur, referred to as ‘callings.’
Warner Bros (who first made the show) has this guide to season 3:
The truth will surface when Manifest returns for its third season of action-packed drama, shocking revelations and the answer to the show’s biggest mystery – what happened to the passengers of Flight 828? Over a year has passed since the miraculous homecoming of Flight 828 and the discovery of others who have mysteriously returned. While the Stone family endeavors to keep their friends safe and make their enemies believe the unbelievable, new challenges will test their trust of the callings and each other. But sticking together is more important than ever, because no matter what happens, it’s all connected.
The case includes Josh Dallas as Ben Stone, Melissa Roxburgh as his sister Michaela, Athena Karkanis as wife Grace Stone, Luna Blaise as Olive Stone and Jack Messina as Olive’s twin (and now much younger) brother Cal.
And there’s more to look forward to!
While the arrival of the absent season is good news it means we can now finally watch (and make sense of) season 4! We’re ignoring vague rumours a season 5 night happen one day!
