Mayor of Kinsgstown renewed for fifth and final season at Paramount+

Deadline reports Paramount+ has renewed Mayor of Kingstown for a fifth and final season. The episode count is also down from previous seasons’ ten to eight.

The show follows the McLusky family – power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. The Deadline article explains how the show created by Taylor Sheridan fits into a wider collection of (including Landman and Tulsa Kings) and has, perhaps, been crowed out by them. While the show has gained in critical opinion, its most recent season failed to break into the Neilsens.

The case include Jeremy Renner (as Michael McClusky) , Edie Falco, Dianne Wiest, Hugh Dillon and Taylor Handley.

How did season 4 end

In Season 4, Mike’s (Renner) control over the town was threatened as new players compete to fill a power vacuum left after previous seasons, compelling him to confront the resulting gang war and stop them from swallowing the town. Meanwhile, with those he loves in more danger than ever before, Mike had to contend with a headstrong new Warden (Falco) to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past.

The season ended with the gang war in Kingstown escalating to a violent climax in the finale.
