First look images for new BBC series Mint have been released, here’s what we know so far about the show

Musician Loyle Carner won’t be the only one experiencing a debut with upcoming BBC series Mint. Film director Charlotte Regan (Scrapper) is set to direct, making this her first TV series.

What’s it about?

The series will follow the inside story of a crime family. The story will be told through the perspective of the daughter within the crime family as she looks for love in a place where everyone’s afraid of her family.

Who’s in it?

Alongside newcomer Loyle Carner, Emma Laird (The Brutalist), Sam Riley (Control), Laura Fraser (Breaking Bad), Lewis Gribben (Black Mirror) and Lindsey Duncan (Birdman) have been confirmed to star in the unconventional dark-dramadey.

Who’s behind it?

Charlotte Regan is the series’ creator, writer and director. Angus Lamont (Tin Star) is set to produce, with Tessa Ross (Bird), Juliette Howell (Conclave), Theo Barrowclough (Scrapper), Jolyon Symonds (Complicit) and Rebecca Ferguson (The Responder) set to be the executive producers of the series.

When’s it out?

Although no release date has been confirmed yet, the eight part series was filmed in Glasgow earlier this year.
