The cast has been announced for Dirty Business, a drama series based on the true story of the potential corporate scandal amongst the UK’s waterways. Here’s what we know so far:

Dirty Business is based on an investigation into England’s water companies, which spanned across ten years. The story takes place in Oxfordshire and follows a concerned citizen and ex-detective, who teams up with his neighbour who is a professor who’s also noticed that the fish in their local river keep dying…

The story also follows the Preen family, who tragically lose their daughter after contracting e-coli subsequent to playing near a storm pipe. More stories in the series include a young surfer, who believes their chronic illness to be caused by surfing in polluted water.

Who’s in it?

The pair of inquisitive investigators will be played by David Thlewis (Avatar: Fire and Ash) and Jason Watkins (The Game). Asin Chaudhry (People Just Do Nothing) takes on the role of a whilstle-blower working for a national sewage plant. The series will also star Posy Sterling (Trigger Point), Tom McKay (Endeavour), Jon Culshaw (Spitting Image), Vicky Pepperdine (Bad Education), Craig Parkinson (Line of Duty), Charlotte Ritchie (Ghosts), Chanel Cresswell (This is England), Lucia Keskin (Sneakerhead) and Alex Jennings (This Is Going to Hurt).
