The official trailer has been released for Game of Thrones prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, here’s what we know about it so far.

With House of the Dragon being confirmed to finish after its fourth season, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been announced to fill the Game of Thrones space left in fan’s lives. Let’s breakdown all the info we have on the upcoming series so far:

What’s it about?

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will take place a century before the events of Game of Thrones. The story will focus on two heroes, a knight and his squire. The two will navigate adventures taking place in an era where the Targaryens still sit on the Iron Throne and the last dragon hasn’t yet vanished.

Who’s in it?

The series is set to star Peter Claffey (Vikings: Valhalla), Dexter Sol (Emmerdale), Daniel Ings (I Hate Suzie), Bertie Carvel (Doctor Foster), Danny Webb (Humans), Sam Spurell (Fargo), Shaun Thomas (Ladhood), Finn Bennett (True Detective), Edward Ashley (Last Tango in Halifax), Tanzyn Crawford (Swift Street), Henry Ashton (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder), Youssef Kerkour (Criminal: UK), Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Love/ Hate) and Daniel Monks (The Seagull).

Who’s behind it?

George R.R. Martin will act as Co-Creator alongside Ira Parker (House of the Dragon), the series will be based off Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg books. The directors will be Owen Harris (Black Mirror) and Sarah Adina Smith (Lessons in Chemistry).

When’s it out?

The series will release 18th January on HBO and HBO Max.
