Expect neighbourly squabbles, domestic and inter-generational differences in Only Child, all told through the lens of Richard and Ken’s comedic father-son relationship.
With the show set to debut on 21st November, the BBC have shared a trailer for its new inter-generational comedy. Only Child stars Greg McHugh (Gullt) alongside comedy legend Gregor Fisher (Rab C. Nesbit).
Here’s the setup:
In this first episode, bit-part actor Richard returns from London to his home to Forres in the Scottish Highlands for a long overdue visit to the recently-widowed Ken. However, he soon realises his dad might be in need of a bit more full-time help.
Not that Ken would agree, of course, but that statement is pretty much true about anything. An eccentric, strong-willed technophobe, Ken is set in his ways, leaving Richard worrying about his dad growing old.
From writer Bryce Hart (Ten Percent, Still Up), Only Child also stars Amy Lennox, Stuart Bowman, Clare Barrett, Robin Laing and Paul Rattray. Plus, Jennifer Saunders as the voice of Richard’s acting agent, Sally.
The series is a Happy Tramp North production for BBC One, BBC Scotland and iPlayer.
Only Child debuts on the BBC Scotland channel on Thursday 21 November, and BBC One on Friday 22 November. All six episodes will be available on BBC iPlayer from Thursday 21 November.
