Good news for Sky Originals as they scored their first ever film BAFTA with Promising Young Woman — which won two awards

Sky summarise their success as follows:

The EE British Academy Film Awards winners were announced this weekend at a virtual ceremony hosted by Edith Bowman, Dermot O’Leary and Clara Amfo. The acclaimed film, Promising Young Woman, won two Awards in the following categories, the first time a Sky Original film has won a BAFTA.

Outstanding British Film. Written and directed by Emerald Fennell (Killing Eve) and produced by Ben Browning (Passengers), Ashley Fox (The Courier) and Josey McNamara (Dreamland)­.

Promising Young Woman, which is also nominated for 5 Academy Awards® including Best Picture, is a bold new vision that has ignited a debate. Carey Mulligan stars as ‘Cassie’; a wickedly smart but singularly focused woman, who in order to overcome events from her past lives a double life by night. Following an unexpected encounter, Cassie is given the chance to right the wrongs of the past.
