Three big names have been added to the cast for Rings of Power season 2 — here’s what we know so far
As season 2 of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power starts filming in the UK, Prime Video has added three big names to the cast. You can read the full biographies of each in the press release, but if you’re in a rush, the new names are:
CIARÁN HINDS — his many successes include playing Mance Rayder in Game of Thrones and Julius Caesar in Rome, as well as numerous film roles, including There Will be Blood, Road to Perdition, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
RORY KINNEAR — seen recently in several James Bond films, Kinnear is currently appearing in Our Flag Means Death. Some of his other film credits include Bank of Dave, Peterloo and The Imitation Game
TANYA MOODIE — appearing as Meg in the BBC Comedy Motherland, Moodie has also appeared in Neverwhere, as well as playing General Parnadee in The Rise of Skywalker
Back in December, Deadline reported on seven other new cast members for the season: Sam Hazeldine, Gabriel Akuwudike, Yasen ‘Zates’ Atour, Ben Daniels, Amelia Kenworthy, Nia Towle, and Nicholas Woodeson. No word yet on any of the roles, and with filming just commencing, this looks likely to arrive in 2024.
