See: Alfre Woodard joins Jason Momoa in sci-fi series

Casting is underway on Apple’s first original sci-fi series, See, which has already added Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones, Justice League). Deadline reports that Alfre Woodard has now joined the series penned by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.

Woodard is known around these parts for her brief appearance in Captain America: Civil War and guest spots on A Series of Unfortunate Events and Luke Cage. She is also an Academy Award nominee and multiple Emmy award-winner.

See is described as an ambitious futuristic drama, envisioning a world in which humans have lost the ability to see. Humanity must find new ways of survival without their core sense but everything changes when a set of twins with sight are born. Jason Momoa will play Baba Voss, a fearless leader, warrior and guardian while Woodard will play an advisor and priestess named Paris.

Woodard is also set to star in Disney’s forthcoming live-action remake of The Lion King and continue her recurring role on Empire. She is also headlining Netflix feature Juanita later this year.

In December Jason Momoa will return to the role of Aquaman in the character’s first solo outing since DC Extended Universe mash-up, Justice League last year. Aquaman is directed by James Wan and will be released in the US on December 21 and December 14 in the UK.
