Updated 11/12/24: The official trailer for Severance Season 2 is here.
With the show returning on January 17th, Apple TV+ have released the full trailer for the new season of Severance.
We’re just catching up with the news, but it dropped at the recent CCXP24 event in São Paulo where writer and executive producer Dan Erickson, and stars Adam Scott, Britt Lower and Tramell Tillman joined fans to tease what’s ahead at Lumon Industries.
Those attending were also treated to the first five minutes of the new season. If you’re keen to know what happens, IGN have provided a write-up. Beware spoilers, obviously!
The show has also dropped a couple of characteristically disturbing images:
The 10-episode second season debuts globally on Apple TV+, with the first episode on Friday, 17 January, 2025. Then, episodes follow weekly on Fridays until 21st March.
Updated 03/12/24: Season 2 gains an official Severance watch-along.
The long-awaited second series of Apple TV+’s Severance arrives in January, and will be supported by an accompanying podcast. However, unlike many watch-alongs, this one is fuelled by serious star power.
The Severance Podcast With Ben Stiller and Adam Scott is “… a companion podcast to the sci-fi series that will provide analysis and weekly insights from the show’s star and director.”
The podcast begins on January 7th, 2024 with two episodes focussed on the show’s first season. Daily episodes then follow to cover off season 1 running up to the Season 2 premiere on Tuesday, Jan 17th.
New episodes of the podcast covering Season 2 then drop on Fridays, covering that week’s episode.
Podcast Guests
A changing roster of guests includes Severance creator Dan Erickson and executive producer Jackie Cohn. Plus, the show’s stars including Zach Cherry (Dylan), John Turturro (Irving) and Britt Lower (Helly), and celebrity superfans like Jon Stewart.
Hosts Stiller and Scott said:
“We have severed ourselves from the world for five years making this show. While we have no memory of what happened during that time, we thought we should do a podcast for all the Innies who will have no recollection of watching, in an attempt to reintegrate them with their memory of the show. We’re happy not to be working with Lumon Industries on this podcast and instead to be bringing it to the world with Audacy Podcasts, who would never send us to the break room.”
The podcast comes from Audacy’s Pineapple Street Studios, in association with Stiller’s Red Hour and Scott’s Great Scott.

Severance – Apple TV+ announce January 2025 return date
Directed by Ben Stiller, Severance stars Adam Scott in a futuristic show about the ultimate work/life balance.
Apple TV+ have confirmed the start date for season 2 of its workplace thriller: Friday, January 17th 2025.
The announcement teaser for Season 2 of Severance comes with a brief glimpse at the upcoming run.
Here’s how Apple describe Severance…
In Severance, Mark Scout (Adam Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure that surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work … and of himself. In season two, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe.
The new season reunites its ensemble cast of Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation), Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette.
Season 2 introduces Sarah Bock as a new series regular, with Gwendoline Christie, Merritt Wever and Alia Shawkat also appearing.
Severance comes from director and executive producer Ben Stiller, and creator, writer and executive producer Dan Erickson. Stiller is directing five episodes of the new run, alongside Uta Briesewitz, Sam Donovan and Jessica Lee Gagné. The show is a Fifth Season production.
The 10-episode season 2 debuts at Apple TV+ on Friday, 17 January 2025. Weekly episodes then follow.
