Shakespeare & Hathaway has been recommissioned for sixth series, and filming is underway in Stratford-Upon-Avon
To give the show its full name, Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators fans will be delighted to hear the show has been recommissioned and filming is already underway for series 6. It’s one of our favourite afternoon cozy crime shows here at Cultbox, and we were already pleased when out of the blue series 5 was commissioned.
The fifth series of is currently on U&alibi on Wednesdays at 8pm, and due on the BBC and iPlayer later this year.
What can we expect from Shakespeare & Hathaway series 6?
The series follows an unlikely pair of private investigators, hardboiled ex-cop Frank Hathaway (Mark Benton), and warm-hearted ex-hairdresser Lu Shakespeare (Jo Joyner), as they work the cobbled streets of Stratford-upon-Avon, solving thrilling cases and murders most foul. This series sees Sebastian Brudenell (Patrick Walshe McBride) win his dream role in LA, so he drafts in his old friend from RADA. Enter Bea Gardiner (Aruhan Galieva), a fresh face and dynamic new addition to the team, stepping into the role of assistant.
Filming is already underway and the show is expected on U&Alibi in 2026, followed again by the BBC and iPlayer.
