Another fantasy adaptation is to be expected with the recent news coming out about Skyward, here’s everything we know so far:

There’s plenty of reasons for fantasy fans and bookworms to rejoice with the announcement about bringing Brandon Sanderson’s series to TV. Being brought to life by a team on a winning streak, there’s a lot to be excited about.

What’s Skyward about?

Trapped on a borderline-uninhabitable landscape on a hostile planet, humanity tries their best to survive under constant attack from inter-planetary invasion attempts. The plot follows a determined young pilot, chasing her dream against all odds to become a member of the fighter corps. She wants to do this not only to defend humanity, but also to redeem her father’s tarnished legacy. The series is packed with areal warfare, futuristic tech, discovery, adventure, and the secrets that lie between the stars.

Who’s behind it?

The studio behind One Piece, Tomorrow Studios is behind the adaptation. Sanderson will write the pilot, alongside Jed Whedon and and Maurissa Tancharoen (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
