One season was all it took for the streaming service to decide it was done with Spinning Out…
Netflix is continuing its strike-off of under performing original series. The streaming giant has this week cancelled the figure skating drama series Spinning Out, which had only just debuted its first season on New Year’s Day.
Spinning Out wasn’t a hit with critics, but it did garner enough fans for this to be fairly upsetting news, and across social media reactions to the news of the show’s cancellation were shocked and negative.
The 10-episode first season was created for Netflix by former competitive skater Samantha Stratton, and focused on a singles-turned-pairs skater who has to navigate a career revival against the odds. It starred Kaya Scodelario, Evan Roderick, January Jones and Willow Shields.
Soundtrack, Daybreak, No Good Nick, Tuca & Bertie, Chambers and All About the Washingtons have also recently been cancelled by Netflix.
