ITV has confirmed that the twelfth season of Birds of a Feather will begin next month.

The sitcom, which orignally ran for nine seasons between 1989 and 1998 on BBC One, was revived by ITV in January 2014 and became ITV’s most successful comedy launch in over a decade.

Pauline Quirke, Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph are back as Sharon Theodopolopodous, Tracey Stubbs and Dorien Green for eight new episodes, with Martin Kemp joining the girls as a love interest for Dorien.

The new season starts at 8.30pm on Thursday 7 January on ITV.

In ‘Knocking on Heaven’s Door’, Tracey’s ex-husband dies and she has to decide what kind of a send-off to give him. Sharon wants the funeral to be right for her boys, Dorien’s got the perfect outfit, and Chigwell’s criminal fraternity want to make it extra special.
