Starring Edie Falco as the brilliant ER nurse with a penchant for painkillers and a marriage on the brink of divorce, Season 5 of the comedy drama will begin at 10pm on Friday 14 February on Sky Atlantic.

The new season sees Jackie clean and back in the bustle of All Saints where an influx of patients from a bus accident makes for a hectic day. Two new doctors join the team and make very different impressions. Former Army medic Dr Ike Prentiss (Morris Chestnut) shakes things up with his attitude to front line medicine, while sexy new resident Dr Carrie Roman (Betty Gilpin) catches Coop’s eye. Meanwhile, O’Hara returns from maternity leave with a new outlook on life and some big news to break to best pal Jackie. And as tensions ride high in the Peyton household, lodger Zoey (Merritt Wever) also has an announcement to make when she decides it’s time to move out. It all seems like a lot for Jackie to take, especially the day before her birthday.
