Sky has announced that the second season of Penny Dreadful will now begin in the UK in May.

Starring Eva Green, Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton and Harry Treadaway, Season 2 launches on Tuesday 5 May on Sky Atlantic, just two days after the show returns in the US on Showtime.

The new season was originally due to start one week earlier.

New guest stars will include Patti LuPone (American Horror Story: Coven) as a mysterious character of great importance in Vanessa’s past.
