BBC Scotland’s iconic comedy series Still Game returns to BBC One next month.
Following a nine year hiatus, all the original cast – including writers and stars Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill – are back for six new episodes.
The new season of Still Game revisits evergreen pensioners Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade, as they embrace the spirit of growing old disgracefully.
The first episode airs at 9.30pm on Friday 7 October on BBC One and Craiglang’s residents can’t resist the temptation of the Futuroo catalogue and its innovations to ‘make life that wee bit easier’. However, it quickly becomes apparent these gadgets do anything but.
Meanwhile, Winston receives a registered letter which sees him prepare for the arrival of his brother, Walter. As Jack and Victor spar over whose gadget is best, there’s a spot of sibling rivalry between Winston and Walter.
Ford Kiernan commented earlier this year: “We’re super happy to come back with the show – we had no idea how much it had been missed until we played the Hydro! Myself and Greg are really excited about getting the gang together again and we are putting our all in to make our fantastic audience feel like we’ve never been away.”
Greg Hemphill added: “We are thrilled to be given this opportunity, with the full support of the BBC Network, to don the bunnets once more! On behalf of all the cast, I’d like to thank Still Game fans for keeping the show alive after all these years. We’ll save a seat for you in the Clansman.”
