The second season of The Last Ship will begin in the UK next month.

Michael Bay’s post-apocalyptic drama is back for 13 new episodes, starting on Sunday 5 July at 8pm on Sky1.

As Captain Tom Chandler (Eric Dane, Grey’s Anatomy), Dr Rachel Scott (Rhona Mitra, Strike Back) and the crew of the US Navy Destroyer Nathan James attempt to distribute the cure to the virus that wiped out 80% of the world’s population, they face a new enemy in a group of naturally immune megalomaniacs who take umbrage with a cure that could dent their plans for world domination.

Setting out to destroy the Nathan James and everyone on board, Chandler, XO Mike Slattery (Adam Baldwin) and the team find themselves fighting for their lives, and the last fragile hope for humanity, when the bad guys fire a torpedo at them.
