Channel 5 has announced that the new season of US drama Under the Dome will begin in the UK later this month.

Based on Stephen King’s novel about a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome, the show returns at 10pm on Monday 25 August on Channel 5.

The first episode of the 13-part second season is written by author Stephen King.
