ITV has confirmed the start date for the final season of Broadchurch.

David Tennant and Olivia Colman are back as DI Alec Hardy and DS Ellie Miller, this time investigating a serious sexual assault in the Dorset community.

Jodie Whittaker and Andrew Buchan also return as Beth and Mark Latimer, alongside Arthur Darvill as local vicar Paul Coates, Carolyn Pickles as newspaper editor Maggie Radcliffe and Adam Wilson as Ellie’s son Tom.

New cast members in Season 3 include Julie Hesmondhalgh, Lenny Henry, Georgina Campbell, Sarah Parish, Charlie Higson and Mark Bazeley.

Broadchurch writer Chris Chibnall will become Doctor Who showrunner in 2018, taking over from departing lead writer Steven Moffat.
