Lois Lane’s sister, first seen on Supergirl, will be a recurring character.
In news first reported by THR, actress Jenna Dewan is set to reprise her role as Lucy Lane on the second series of Superman & Lois.
The younger sister of Lois, Lucy was a regular across the first series of Supergirl in 2015. She was James Olsen’s ex-girlfriend and, as such, Kara’s rival for his affections.
Working as a prosecutor in the JAG Corps, she enjoyed a difficult relationship with her father, General Sam Lane. Later, she worked as CatCo Worldwide Media’s general counsel for a while before returning to the army.
With the general already popping up on Superman & Lois, bringing Lucy into the story suggests building wider connections to Supergirl.
Superman & Lois was renewed for a second season earlier this year, after its initial fifteen episode debut run.
These more mature versions of Superman/Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) also originally span out of Supergirl; this series sees them married with teenage boys, Jonathan and Jordan, and living back in Smallville.
Arrowverse
Superman & Lois is the newest member Greg Berlanti produced Arrowverse of DC shows on American network The CW. It is part of a family of connected shows including Batwoman, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Black Lightning and Supergirl.
Although the ‘Girl of Steel’ hangs up her cape this month, after six series, thankfully actress Melissa Benoist has suggested to Entertainment Weekly that she’s not adverse to the idea of donning the costume again.
Although most air on Sky in the UK, save for Batwoman on E4, Superman & Lois is still to find a home with a UK broadcaster.
