Brad Pitt has been revealed as a Leonardo DiCaprio’s co-star in Quentin Tarantino’s previously untitled Manson Family movie. This is after rumours of Tom Cruise and Al Pacino being cast. Both Pitt and DiCaprio have worked with Tarantino before, but never on the same project.
The film, which Tarantino has described as ‘a story that takes place in Los Angles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood’ has a title; Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. It’s believed to follow real events surrounding the murder of Sharon Tate by members of the Manson family, her neighbour Rick Dalton and his stunt double Cliff Booth.
The Sony backed project has been the centre of a wooing battle for Tarantino and his director’s chair since his decision to move from the Weinstein Company. Once is slated for an August 2019 release and has yet to announce other cast members, but Tarantino is believed to be eyeing up OSCAR nominated Margot Robbie for the role of Sharon Tate and it’s likely an equally high profile star will be cast in the role of murder family patriarch, Charles Manson.
