Don’t look up! The BBC has announced it will remake Alfred Hitchcock classic The Birds, set in 1940s Cornwall.
The iconic original took place in 1960s California, and tapped into many of the environmental concerns of the era. Of course, those concerns have only magnified in the intervening years, and we have the makings of a truly terrifying ‘nature fights back’ horror here.
Irish playright Conor McPherson, who previously adapted the novella for the stage in 2009, will pen the series for David Heyman’s Heydey Television.
