The Blair Witch Project is an iconic cult-hit, the horror film is getting a reboot with a crew being announced – here’s what we know:
It seems that we won’t be seeing the end of reboot-mania any time soon, however this particular project is a little more unusual given the film was one of the earlier successes of indie filmmaking. The reboot treatment has left fans with questions, some of which are just beginning to be answered.
What’s it about?
Little is known about the plot of the reboot of The Blair Witch Project but there were promises to bring the original folklore and mythology of the original cult-hit film to a new generation of viewers. It seems as though the new project could take a lot from the source material in terms of content due to what’s been revealed about the crew members.
Who’s behind The Blair Witch Project reboot?
Original stars Joshua Leonard and Michael C. Williams will return to the project as executive producers, with Eduardo Sánchez, Daniel Myrick and Gregg Hale from the original film also executive producing. Dylan Clark (Transfigure) is set to direct the project, James Wan (Saw) and Jason Blum (The Purge) will produce with Roy Lee (Weapons).
