The wolves are set to start running again. This time in the direction of Wilton’s Music Hall in London.
An adaptation of John Masefield’s novel The Box Of Delights, which in turn was turned into a much-loved 1984 Yuletide BBC adaptation, is heading to Wilton’s this Christmas, and tickets for the run are now on sale.
Piers Torday has adapted the book for the stage, and the production will be the world stage premiere for Masefield’s book. Justin Audibert is set to direct, whilst Tom Piper is on designer duties.
The production, fittingly, will run across the Christmas period. It opens on December 1st, and plays through until January 6th. We should be clear that it’s not the television version that’s being adapted for stage, rather it’s the original novel. But that’s not going to stop us posting the opening theme tune, in the middle of the summer.
