The Star Wars star will both appear and executive produce the book adaption.
Deadline is reporting that Miramax TV have lined up Daisy Ridley for her next role.
The former Star Wars star is set to appear in a series adaptation of The Christie Affair, the best-selling novel by Nina de Gramont. She’ll also be an executive producer on the project.
The story focuses on the famous author’s eleven missing days in 1926, after her husband’s affair became public. However, the novel puts a different spin on events, telling it through the eyes of her husband’s mistress Nan O’Dea.
The Christie Affair is being adapted by Juliette Towhidi (Calendar Girls, Death Comes to Pemberley). Miramax TV are producing with the Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Rich Green, Jeremy Bell, and DJ Goldberg as Executive Producers. Marina Niel is supervising the project for Miramax UK.
Of course, Doctor Who fans have a quite different explanation for Christie’s lost days which involves a giant wasp. We can’t confirm that any oversized insects appear in this reimaging of the story!
Daisy Ridley
Since finding fame as Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Ridley has primarily worked on big screen projects, such as Chaos Walking and Murder on the Orient Express.
She’s also soon to appear as Gertrude Ederle, the lead role in Joachim Rønning ‘s Young Woman and the Sea, alongside Christopher Eccleston and Stephen Graham.
We’ll keep you posted on The Christie Affair.
