With two new mysteries to solve, here’s our first look at ‘Mystery at the Prospect Hotel’.
For their second series, the BBC’s reinvigorated take on The Famous Five is embracing the murder mystery genre.
The latest outing, ‘Mystery at the Prospect Hotel’, is billed as coming soon – we’re guessing in time for Christmas.
In addition to a very brief teaser, the Beeb have also released a trio of images released from the feature-length adventure, spotlighting its guest stars.
Here’s the synopsis for ‘Mystery at the Prospect Hotel’
In film one of the second series, Mystery at the Prospect Hotel, it’s summer 1940 and the Five are reunited at a grand hotel on Cragstone Ridge. An old foe, Thomas Wentworth, awaits them as he needs their help.
Wentworth has seen into the future and foretells the murder of famous jazz singer Cab Vee, who is visiting the hotel. With a host of likely suspects, each with their own motive, can the Five figure out who is trying to kill him?
First up, atop this page there’s returning trouble in the form of Thomas Wentworth (Jack Gleeson), with Gabriela (Maria Pedraza).
Also in the guest cast are James Wilby as Mr Vincent, Rita Tushingham as Miss Clutterbuck, Jonathan Aris as Mr Standing, Jamie Andrew Cutler as Mr Crawford, Chloe Acland as Dilys and Jemima Rooper as Angela Clutterbuck.
The Famous Five
The show’s core cast returns for the new adventure. That’s Diaana Babnicova as George, alongside Elliott Rose as Julian, Kit Rakusen as Dick and Flora Jacoby Richardson as Anne. Plus Kip, the Bearded Collie Cross, who plays Timmy the dog.
Also back are Ann Akinjirin and James Lance, reprising their roles as Aunt Fanny and Uncle Quentin.
