The drama is based on the investigation into the murder of freelance journalist Kim Wall…
Production is underway on a brand new Scandinavian drama series which will explore the police investigation into the real-life murder of Kim Wall, a freelance journalist who was murdered after getting into a private submarine with quasi-famous entrepreneur Peter Madsen.
The BBC has decided to pick up the series, called The Investigation, which is set to be six episodes long and stars some familiar faces in Borgen‘s Soren Malling, and Pilou Asbaek, who has also made a decent career across the pond in recent years, starring in Game Of Thrones and the live-action remake of Ghost In The Shell, opposite Scarlett Johansson.
Tobias Lindholm (Mindhunter) wrote The Investigation, and is also on directing duties. Malling will play the detective in charge of investigating Kim’s murder, and Asbaek will star as prosecutor Jakob Buch-Jepsen. Pernilla August and Rolf Lassgard will be Kim Wall’s mum and dad.
There’s no air date set for the new series, but we can likely expect it to screen at some point in late-2020.
