The team behind The Toys That Made Us have a new offshoot that looks back on some classic films…
This Friday will bring us The Movies That Made Us, a fresh retrospective docuseries from the creators of The Toys That Made Us. Netflix will once again play home to the “…That Made Us” crew, and the four-part first season will focus on Die Hard, Home Alone, Dirty Dancing and Ghostbusters. Home Alone came out in 1990, so it’s not a total 80s fest!
The Movies That Made Us will feature interviews with the films’ actors and crew, and genuinely looks like an easy and entertaining binge, especially if you’re a fan of any of the aforementioned flicks.

“Once season two of Toys That Made Us came out and was well reviewed and watched repeatedly, Netflix asked me to pitch any other ideas that I had of a similar nature,” says series creator Brian Volk-Weiss. “So I pitched two different formats, and the one they liked and greenlit was Movies That Made Us.”
We wonder what the other one was?
Next up for the “…That Made Us” team is a series about Disney parks that they’re making for Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, which will launch in the UK in March.
