The next Arrowverse crossover will be Crisis On Infinite Earths

Following on from the success of this year’s Elseworlds crossover event, Stephen Amell has confirmed that next year’s Arrowverse crossover will be based on the iconic comic book event Crisis On Infinite Earths.

Amell, of course, plays Oliver Queen in Arrow. This is the show that kicked off the shared Arrowverse universe, which now includes The Flash, Supergirl and Legends Of Tomorrow as well. The Black Lightning series on The CW is yet to have a crossover with the rest of them, but is part of the same vast Multiverse of DC TV series.

And yes, Mr Amell has now taken the time to confirm that next year will see an Arrowverse adaptation of Crisis On Infinite Earths. He took to Twitter to break the news, which he did by sharing this image….

For those who aren’t familiar with the comics, allow us to recap some important details for you: written by Marv Wolfman and pencilled by George Pérez, back in 1986, Crisis On Infinite Earths was a 12-part comic book series that saw a villain named Anti-Monitor threatening the existence of the DC Multiverse.

The CW’s Arrowverse paid tribute to Crisis On Infinite Earths last year, with the Crisis On Earth-X crossover event. It’ll be exciting to see Greg Berlanti and the other writers properly tackling the comics with a direct adaptation, though.

As we hear more about next year’s Arrowverse crossover, then, we’ll be sure to keep you informed.
