Hype doesn’t begin to describe the atmosphere around The Odyssey, especially with a new trailer released – here’s a recap of what we know:

With new announcements bringing in flocks of keen film and mythology lovers, the latest release has kicked up renewed interest in the epic story being put to screen. The following is a rundown of the latest info on the project.

What will we see in The Odyssey?

Christopher Nolan’s take on the epic will follow Odysseus in his most iconic adventures. The trailer depicts his face-off with the Cyclops, the struggle for power on Ithaca, and plenty more goddesses which punctuate Homer’s story. Despite the massive scope of the source material, Nolan has stated that the runtime for his 13th directorial feature will not overtake that of Oppenheimer‘s.

Who’s in it?

We get to see a mixture of more of the main cast in their roles as well as announced cast in their full mythological forms, previously unseen. The cast includes Matt Damon (The Martian), Robert Pattinson (The Drama), Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada), Tom Holland (Spider Man: Far From Home), Zendaya (Dune), Charlize Theron (Apex), Lupita Nyong’o (The Wild Robot), Jon Bernthal (Daredevil), Benny Safdie (Good Time), John Leguizamo (Encanto), Himesh Patel (Station Eleven), Will Yun Lee (Altered Carbon), Mia Goth (Pearl), Jimmy Gonzales (Absolution), Elliot Page (The Umbrella Academy) and Jovan Adepo (Overlord).

When’s it out?

The Odyssey is set to hit theatre screens on the 17th July this year.
