Four new episodes of The Simpsons will air exclusively on the Disney+ streaming service.
While The Simpsons might not have the cultural impact that it did in the early 90s, animation’s first family are still going strong. With 35 seasons and The Simpsons Movie under its belt, the show’s creators revealed news of the upcoming run at the recent Disney D23 Fan Expo.
Now part of the House of Mouse, thanks to Disney’s acquisition of Fox, the show not only airs on Fox but also appears on Disney+, albeit six months after its linear airing.
Thanks to Variety‘s coverage of D23, we’ve also learned that the streamer will be home to four exclusive episodes too. While the animation has provided shorts for Disney+ before, whole episodes are something new.
The first of these exclusives is a festive two-parter, ‘O Come All Ye Faithful’, which drops on December 17th, 2024. We love an auspicious date and this is the 35th anniversary of the show’s 1989 debut, ‘Simpsons Roasting Over An Open Fire’.
The two further episodes, ‘The Past and the Furious’ and ‘Yellow Planet’, will air in the “months ahead.”
The Simpsons Season 35 on Disney+
At the D23 Fan Expo, the Disney+ premiere of Season 35’s 18 episodes was also confirmed. They land at the streaming service on October 2nd.
