The Walking Dead is returning for its eighth season this coming October, with FOX in the UK once again broadcasting the show. And it’s just confirmed the start date for the new run of episodes.

The new season will kick off on 23rd October, 24 hours after the episode premieres on American television. The season eight premiere will also coincide with the 100th episode of the series too, it’s been confirmed.

The 23rd October date is going to be mirrored in over 180 other countries around the world, as the aim is to close down the gap – and thus the opportunity for piracy – between US transmission and broadcasts elsewhere in the world.

Now if only we could sort Channel Five and Gotham out…
