Forget Lucifer and Brooklyn Nine-Nine – the real, original unkillable show is Timeless, which has just been brought back from the dead a second time.
Before you get too excited, it hasn’t been renewed for season three, but rather it’s been commissioned for a two-part series finale, to air on NBC in the US over the Christmas period. It’s very welcome news, and fits in with the new trend for shows that have been cancelled on a cliffhanger to be allowed to finish their story.
Creators and executive producers Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke said: “While we wish we could’ve made another dozen seasons of Timeless, this is the next best thing. We’re thrilled to take the Lifeboat out for one last spin and bring closure to our story.
“The studio, network, cast and crew are all doing this for one reason only: the fans. Because they deserve it. Because the fans made this happen and we thank them for their passion, support and helicopters. So? You guys want to get Rufus back or what?”
For those unaware, the second season of Timeless was only greenlit after fan backlash against the show’s cancellation following its original run.
