Heading to the BBC this month is the adaptation of Ian McEwan’s novel, The Child In Time.

The 90-minute television movie stars and was co-produced by Benedict Cumberbatch. Kelly MacDonald will appear alongside him. Stephen Butchard has written the script, with Julian Farino directing.

As for a synopsis, it simply reads ‘Benedict Cumberbatch stars as a children’s author whose life is turned upside down when his three-year old daughter goes missing’. For fans of the book, you’ll know it’s not quite that simple.

The Child in Time will air this Sunday 24 September at 9pm on BBC One.
