Written by Lewis creator and Inspector Morse writer Russell Lewis, four new two-hour episodes of the Morse prequel will begin on Sunday 14 April at 8pm on ITV.

Endeavour first aired as a one-off film in January 2012.

Shaun Evans (The Take) will return to the title role, alongside Roger Allam (The Iron Lady) as Endeavour’s senior partner, Detective Inspector Fred Thursday. James Bradshaw will also be back as Dr Max Debryn and John Thaw’s daughter Abigail will make further guest appearances as Dorothea Frazil.
