It’s been a long time coming, but Stranger Things 4 finally lands this on Friday.
Chock full of preparations for war, the final trailer for the fourth season of Stranger Things have landed.
Thanks to the show’s split rollout this time around, this is for Volume 1 (episodes 1 – 7) which lands on Friday, May the 27th. Volume 2 (episodes 8 & 9) follow on five weeks later on Friday, the 1st of July.
With nine episodes instead of the usual eight, the upcoming season has a much longer overall running time, with some episodes rivalling feature-length movies. Every instalment is over an hour long – the finale is an epic 2hr 30min!
Here’s the synopsis for Stranger Things 4:
It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier.
In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.
“Don’t try to be heroes. There is no shame in running.”
Netflix have also generously dropped the first eight minutes of episode one online too:
If you need to catch up on the Upside Down after that, the streamer has also helpfully provided recaps for the show’s earlier seasons too…
If nothing else, it’s fun to marvel at how the young cast has shot up!
The Beginning of the End!
While Season 4 is not the end for Stranger Things – in fact it’s dubbed “The Beginning of the End” – we know that Season 5 will be. In a recent interview with Steve Weintraub of Collider, the show’s creators The Duffer Brothers confirmed they’ve already storylined the rest of the show.
However, fear not, there is a spin-off in the works – one that actor Finn Wolfhard has apparently guessed the nature of!
Stranger Things returns to Netflix this Friday, the 27th May 2022.
