The horror show is co-created by Glover and Janine Nabers.
Prime Video have released a few details of Donald Glover’s latest project: Swarm.
The show comes from much of the team who worked on Atlanta, Glover’s series which drew to a close last year after its fourth season.
While details are scant – Swarm gets its premiere at the SWSX Film Festival on March 10th 2023, prior to landing on Prime on March 17th – this is what we do know:
The story follows Dominique Fishback (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey) as Dre, a young woman whose obsession with a pop star takes a dark turn. Reportedly, the object of Dre’s obsessions shares similarities with Beyoncé.
Here’s the frankly rather disturbing teaser…
The show also stars singer Chloe Bailey aka Chlöe as Dre’s sister Marissa, and Damon Idris (Snowfall) as her boyfriend Bailey.
Donald Glover is the co-creator of Swarm and he also directs the first episode; Janine Nabers co-creates and serves as showrunner. Interestingly, there’s no suggestion of Glover appearing in the show.
We’ll keep you posted on Swarm.
