Gemma Whelan returns as DS Sarah Collins. 

With the show returning soon, ITV have released a first-look trailer for The Tower II: Death Message.

The new series is based on Kate London’s novel of the same name and again adapted by screenwriter Patrick Harbinson.

The core cast return alongside Gemma Whelan’s DS Sarah Collins. That’s Tahirah Sharif (PC Lizzie Adama), Emmett J Scanlan (DI Kieran Shaw) and Jimmy Akingbola (DC Steve Bradshaw).

Here’s what we know about Death Message…

The series opens with Lizzie returning to Farlow station. Her boss and former lover, DI Kieran Shaw, partners her with Arif Johar (Michael Karim). Their first call is to a domestic violence complaint against Mark Brannon (Charley Palmer Rothwell), who is accused of beating up his girlfriend, Georgina Teel (Rosa Coduri) and terrorising their young daughter Skye.

Lizzie persuades Georgina to tell the truth about what Brannon has done to her, enabling Lizzie and Arif to arrest him. However, once the case gets to court Georgina’s testimony and the cross-examination doesn’t go according to plan, leading to tragedy and leaving the case on a knife-edge.

The Tower II: Death Message comes from Windhover Films and Mammoth Screen.

The series begins on Monday, 28th August at 9pm on ITV and streams on ITVX.
