Paramount+’s new adaptation of Treasure Island starts today

Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic tail takes to the waves once more

What do we know about this version of Treasure Island

We’ve been following this since the commission was announced, and it was only in June it entered production, now here we are. Paramount+ released a sneak peak at the end of last month, so as a reminder, the series follows Jim Hawkins and his mother, Bess Hawkins, after they come into possession of Captain Flint’s treasure map. Their search takes them aboard the Hispaniola, where Jim encounters Long John Silver and a crew pursuing the same treasure.

There are six episodes dropping weekly from today until November 16. Hayley Atwell plays Bess Hawkins, with Tom Sweet starring as her teenage son and the series protagonist, Jim Hawkins. David Oyelowo plays Long John Silver. The cast also includes Jack Huston as Aaron Graham, Tomer Capone as Billy Bones, Craige Els as Mr Arrow, Tristan Sturrock as Captain Smollett and Neil Pendleton as Mr Cameron.
