Reports suggest two new DC series are in development — connected to both Batman and Superman
It seems we might be getting two new DC series — one a development of V for Vendetta (the Channel 4 project linked has not come to light), the other a Jimmy Olsen hosted Superman spinoff with a working title of DC Crime. The DC Universe has been evolving over the past few years (with some popular shows as casualties). Here’s what we know so far…
V for Vendetta

According to Variety, ‘V for Vendetta’ TV Series in the Works at HBO. We learn Pete Jackson is attached to write the series adaptation. James Gunn and Peter Safran of DC Studios will executive produce, as will Ben Stephenson via Poison Pen and Leanne Klein of Wall to Wall Media, which is part of Warner Bros Television Studios UK. Warner Bros Television will produce.
Before DC took over the title, V for Vendetta was a comic series written by Alan Moore and illustrated by David Lloyd. The story is set in Britain in a dystopian, alternate history in which the country is controlled by the fascistic Norsefire party. An anarchist named V, known for his distinctive Guy Fawkes mask, seeks to topple the government with the help of Evey Hammond, a young woman V rescued from the country’s secret police. There was a popular feature film in 2005, with Hugo Weaving as V and Natalie Portman as Evey.
Before Pennyworth (the early life of Batman’s butler) was cancelled, the show had been planned to become a prequel to V for Vendetta.
