Uncanny Cold Cases is the latest from the Uncanny stable — this time it’s a YouTube channel
The BBC has announced several podcasts will be video streaming, including with their own YouTube channels. We’re focusing on Uncanny, but others include Sort Your Life Out, Race Across the World and Fame Under Fire.
What is the Uncanny Cold Cases about
It’s a visualised extension of the hugely popular Uncanny podcast, with its own new YouTube channel. Each episode sees Danny Robins and paranormal experts Evelyn Hollow and Dr Ciaran O’Keeffe turn detective and investigate a historical haunting from classic cases like ghosthunter Harry Price’s infamous enquiry into Borley Rectory, and Britain’s most violent poltergeist, the Black Monk of Pontefract; to lesser-known ones, such as the nightmarish Sandown Clown on the Isle of Wight, and America’s original UFO abduction story, the Barney and Betty Hill Incident.
The team will pore over all the elements that have made these paranormal stories endure, sometimes over centuries, and put them under the magnifying glass. Danny will bring some of the most head-scratching, terrifying moments from the cases to life, telling the stories in his trademark terrifying style, and then the team will discuss the phenomena and look for possible explanations for what happened. Can the team make sense of these strange cases that have haunted history?
Uncanny Cold Cases will be available on the new Uncanny Podcast YouTube channel and BBC Sounds from 7 April.
Uncanny Cold Cases is a video podcast for BBC Sounds and the new Uncanny YouTube channel. It was commissioned by Rhian Roberts, Commissioner for Podcasts and Formats for BBC Sounds. It is produced by Bafflegab Productions and Uncanny Media.
