An adaptation of the iconic 1961 feature film is making progress, with the lead announced for Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea:

The depths are calling once again as a reimagined look at the original film by Irwin Allen transforms the story into a series. The latest release of information reveals who will be leading the story.

What’s Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea about?

The new take on the story will follow a highly qualified scientist as she takes on her greatest task yet. She is taken in to a secret government programme which aims to launch her and a team into the murky depths in order to interact with a mysterious submarine from a time in history that shouldn’t exist. The arctic expedition previously took the life of her sister, so she’s determined to live up to her legacy and do right by her intentions. However, things get even more intriguing as unknown symbols emerge from the ice, and the submarine comes to life when our protagonist sets foot on board.

Who’s leading it?

Daisy Ridley (Star Wars) is set to take the leading role, with more cast members to be announced as production develops.
