Wild Bill, an enticing new ITV crime drama fronted by Parks and Recreation‘s Rob Lowe, was announced only last month but the cast is already slotting into place…
Lowe will play, as the ITV press spiel says, a “high-flying US cop Bill Hixon, who is appointed Chief Constable of the East Lincolnshire Police Force. When he lands in Boston, Lincolnshire, with his 14 year-old daughter Kelsey in tow, he’s hoping they can flee their painful recent past. But this unfamiliar, unimpressed community will force Bill to question everything about himself and leave him asking whether it’s Boston that needs Bill, or Bill that needs Boston?”
It’s now been confirmed that The Bletchley Circle‘s Rachael Stirling will join him as Lady Mary Harborough while Ordinary Lies‘ Angela Griffith will star as a local journalist, Lisa Cranston. Tony Pitts will play Police & Crime Commissioner Keith Metcalfe with Bronwyn James as DC Muriel Yeardsley.
Finishing out the cast is Bodyguard‘s Anjli Mohindra as Deputy Chief Constable Lydia Price, A Very English Scandal‘s Steffan Rhodri as DS Alex Blair, Detectorists‘ Divian Ladwa as PC Drakes, Humans‘ Anthony Flanagan as PC Sean Cobley and Up the Women‘s Vicki Pepperdine as pathologist, Broadbent.
It’s a sterling cast and filming is already underway for a 2019 release. It’s set to be written and executive produced by Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble with Charles Martin directing.
We’ll keep you updated on Wild Bill.
