ITV has chosen not to move forward with another series of the Lincolnshire police dramedy…
There won’t be another series of Wild Bill, ITV has confirmed. Rob Lowe’s Lincolnshire-set ‘American cop gets stuck in the UK fixing local problems’ show has been nixed after six episodes.
Deadline reveals that Wild Bill didn’t manage to whip up many viewers here in the UK – an average of 3.7 million per episode – and no streamers or broadcasters in the US were interested in picking it up, either.
“We are immensely proud of Wild Bill and loved working with Rob Lowe and the production teams at 42, MultiStory Media and Anonymous Content,” an ITV spokeswoman said in a statement. “However, Wild Bill sadly won’t be returning for a second instalment. We are hugely grateful for the warm welcome we received whilst filming in Boston, Lincolnshire.”
Rachael Stirling, Angela Griffin, Tony Pitts, Bronwyn James, Anjli Mohindra, Steffan Rhodri, Divian Ladwa, Anthony Flanagan and Vicki Pepperdine starred alongside Lowe in the series, which was written by Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble.
